| Teen
caught with illegal pills at school
By Alison Baugh
April 18, 2007 | A 15-year-old male student was caught
at South Cache Middle School possessing medication that
was prescribed for someone else and had been bought
off the street.
Principal Teri Cutler was made aware of the situation
from another student, who wished to remain anonymous,
said Lt. Jensen of the Cache County Sherriff's Office.
When the principal went to search the student's binder,
she found the pills in a plastic bag and gave them to
school deputy Dustin Hunter.
The drugs were identified at Tramabol, a pain-relieving
medication, according to police reports. When confronted
about the pills the student admitted to buying them
for $2 a pill, 10 at a time, said Jensen. Each pill
was 15 milligrams. He also said the pills often give
their users a drowsy and drunk-like sensation.
"[The student] said the pills allowed him to
be mellow and calm down," Jensen said.
The student would only identify the seller of the
pills as a 16- to 17-year-old boy. After the incident
April 11, the case was referred to juvenile court. Because
of the age of the suspect, information regarding the
outcome couldn't legally be released.
