"I've always been all over the lot in my writing. Except for poetry -- even though they say all the old-time sportswriters use plenty of it. Maybe it's just part of what we do."

Police investigating prowler appearing in two bedrooms

By Riki Richards

April 24, 2007 | LOGAN -- Logan police are investigating two separate incidents of prowling that are believed to be related.

Sgt. Louise Speth said the two incidents happened six nights apart in the same area, east of Main Street and north of 400 North. She said the first was called in at 4:40 a.m. April 13, and the second call was received at 3:30 a.m. Thursday.

Both cases involved college-age females who woke up to see a man standing in their bedrooms. The prowler left when discovered in both cases. Nothing has been reported stolen, but some of the women's personal items had been moved.

Speth said police are not releasing the addresses where the incidents took place so the prowler is not tempted to return. She said they are encouraging people to lock their doors and windows and to close their blinds.

"College students make easy targets," said Speth.

There is no description of the prowler other than his sex. Detective Jason Olsen is in charge of the ongoing investigation.
