Grammatically Speaking:

"We owe much to our mother tongue. It is through speech and writing that we understand each other and can attend to our needs and differences. If we don't respect and honor the rules of English, we lose our ability to communicate clearly and well. In short, we invite mayhem, misery, madness, and inevitably even more bad things that start with letters other than M."

--Martha Brockenbrough, grammarian and founder, National Grammar Day

Brigham City seeks public place for fossil collection

By Amy Bodily

February 4, 2008 | BRIGHAM CITY -- Brigham City is looking for a home. The city has been trusted with the care of a prized collection of fossils and minerals, with the stipulation that it be put on display for the community to share.

Lloyd Gunther, 90, has a great love of geology, particularly gathering and collecting fossils left in the earth over thousands of years. He has passed that love to his son Val, his grandson Glade. Now he hopes to pass some of that enthusiasm on to others with this donation.

The Brigham City Council has established a task force whose specific goal is to find a site that will accommodate both the collection and the visitors who come to see it.

"They have such a great collection and it is frustrating because we don't have a place to display it, ' said Councilman Reese Jensen. "We're anxious to get it out where we can see it."
