Grammatically Speaking:

"We owe much to our mother tongue. It is through speech and writing that we understand each other and can attend to our needs and differences. If we don't respect and honor the rules of English, we lose our ability to communicate clearly and well. In short, we invite mayhem, misery, madness, and inevitably even more bad things that start with letters other than M."

Millville council won't decide on cell towers until Feb. 21

By Leah Lopshire

February 8, 2007 | MILLVILLE -- The public hearing portion of the town council meeting on Thursday concerned the regulation of communication towers in Millville. As the code stands now the only places where communication towers are allowed are on city property, absolutely no communication towers are allowed to be on private property.

One local female resident at the meeting objected to the code as it is now, wanting private property to be considered as possible communication tower locations, if the location met all the regulations needed. Her concern was that city property might not always be the best place to receive cell service as compared to a piece of private property.

Some of the concerns from the city council with this proposal are the disregard to neighbors of those who might possibly receive a tower in their yard, and the revenue. City officials think that it would be better if the revenue from the towers was divided equally among the community rather than all go to one individual.

Councilman Jared Taylor brought the suggestion for right of first refusal. The final decision has been pushed back until the next council meeting on Feb. 21.
