USU Partners in Business
announces its 2008-09 seminar series
August 29, 2008 | LOGAN — Utah State University
Partners in Business begins its 2008-2009 season Sept.
3-4, with the Operational Excellence seminar, which
brings hundreds of professionals from around the Intermountain
West.
"For the past 39 years, Partners in Business has
presented seminars designed to expand the business knowledge
base," said Amy Merritt, the programs assistant
director. "The Operational Excellence seminar has
been one of the best attended because of its association
with the Shingo Prize."
Brandon Ruggles, the student coordinator of the seminar,
said he is excited for this year's seminar because of
the addition of workshops.
"The workshops should give professionals a hands-on
experience to lean principles," Ruggles said.
The lean principles taught at the seminars are what
one annual participant called "the best in the
country."
Ruggles said one of the great things about the conference
is that there is a connection between students and professionals
that wouldn't be attained at any other conference
or training.
The 2008-2009 Seminar Series includes: Operational
Excellence, Sept. 3-4, 2008; Customer Service and Marketing,
Oct. 8-9, 2008; Accounting, Oct. 30, 2008; Financial
Services and Banking, Jan. 22, 2009; Information Technology,
Feb. 25-26, 2009; Human Resources and Ethical Leadership,
