Today's word on journalism

More from the Do-Gooder File:

"For much of his career, he could outthink, out-hustle, out-report, outeat, outdrink and outwork any other journalist in the country. But if his excesses were occasionally unbridled, they were driven by his passion to get a good story and root out the bad guys. ... He could get excited about an investigation of public corruption or a bizarre animal story. We once spent weeks following a story about a dog on 'death row' that Bob believed was 'innocent.'"

Activities for campus ResLife week announced

By M. Kathryn Hanberg

March 28, 2008 | The Residence Hall Association general council meeting covered many important upcoming events yesterday. Next week is ResLife Week, a week of large activities for all who attend Utah State.

"We have many activities planned from Battle of the Bands to a murder mystery dinner," said Steve Anderson, RHA Events Coordinator.

Monday is their Battle of the Bands at 8 p.m. in the Lundstrom Student Center. All the proceeds will be going to Best Friends Animal Society. Tuesday is the Monty Python Knight starting at 7:30 in the Eccles Student Learning Center room 007. Wednesday will be the anticipated Murder Mystery Dinner at 7 p.m. in the Skyroom located in USU's Taggart Student Center. Thursday has two activities. They have the Movie Night at 6:30 p.m. in the Lundstrom Student Center followed by the Midnight Swim from 10 p.m. to midnight in USU's Health, Physical Education and Recreation Building. Friday is the Blood Drive in the TSC International Lounge from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Anderson said.

This coming weekend is also Dance Fest. This is a dance competition RHA helps with as a fundraiser. Help is needed, and those willing to help need to wear black pants and a white shirt, said Erika Kingery, RHA President.

Chelsea Longhurst, RHA National Communications Coordinator, discussed the next housing conference coming in May. All who applied to attend should know by the end of the week.
