Zion Canyon

Photography and story:: Ranae Bangerter

ZION -- Zion used to be the largest desert in the northern hemisphere, according to the shuttle guide through the canyon.

Seven stops line the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive. These are at the Court of the Patriarchs, Emerald Pools (upper, middle and lower), Angel' s Landing Trailhead, Weeping Rock, Temple of Sinawava (next to the Narrows), and one more where the road forks to Zion-Mount Carmel Highway or back to the Visitors Center

The park is visited the most in the fall, with about 300,000 visitors each month from June to October, according to the park Web site.
